if pressure escaped when you removed the oil cap....there should be a slight vacuum at idle.

The fact remains, the PCV system is designed to allow 1-2"Hg in the crankcase at idle. Thats why it connects to the intake manifold after the throttle plate. It sucks up blowby gas and oil vapor. We used to just dump those with a downdraft tube, but the EPA got pissy because hydrocarbons cause smog. The PCV system's slight vacuum pulls the vapors in to be burned and sent through the cat. If there's no vacuum it doesn't work, which can also cause the valve cover, crank seals, and other seals to leak.

speaking of leaks, my little brother literally just leaked out some gas right now. Yeah he farted. I hope he didn't shart cause then he'd have to call up julio for advise.

I had a breather on the valve cover of my b16 and that ---- dripped oil, i think my rings were unhappy with the way I had treated them.
