Default 99 ford ranger oil pan gasket / tranny spacer plate ??

Anybody know anything about ford rangers

Trying to get the oil pan off. It feels like the plate between the tranny and motor to protect the flywheel has to come off.

IF you remove all the tranny bolts will that plate just slide down?

NEED help!!!!!

That plat is probobly held in by dowl pins. But you should'nt have to remove that plate, I'm sure your missing a bolt some where.

I was thinking that plate would be held in like that....

all the pan bolts and everything is loose I can move the pan around, its just that the motor would have to be lifted so high to get the pan out of there. if that plate was out of the way it might slip over the pickup....

anybody know if that plate will come off or not??

And all of them require you to jack up the motor 3-5 inches. As do the thunderbirds and crown vic's. And most Fords for that matter. You should see the estimated labor charge that alldata gives for an oilpan gasket removal and replace. RTV FTW

I just jacked the motor up from the crankpulley as far as it would go and it's still not even for it to come out.

I'm guessing that bellhousing cover has to come off?

it has the labor rate listed at 7.9 hrs and if it has ac add another .8 hrs to it. I'll send the tsb to you in a pm regarding the revised gasket that they came out with since its the only tsb on all data for it, all data sucks btw but it works for somethings.
