---- vanos bullshit i could care less about someone trying to copy vtec, a 3.2L dohc vtec engine would own a 3.2l bmw hands down.

OOOOOOK....well here we go.....heres your 3.2l dohc vtec motor from a 1997 nsx
http://members.lycos.nl/hendrik/nsx/specs.htm#nsx1990
Engine manufacturer Honda
Engine Position M
Engine alignment T
Bore 93 mm
Stroke 78 mm
Cylinders 6-V
Valve Gear DOHC
Valves per Cylinder 4 (24 in total)
Swept Volume 3179 cc
Main crankshaft bearings 0
Coolant W
Compression Ratio 10.2
Fuel System Ho PGM fuel inj.
Maximum power 290 bhp (216 kW)
Power Peak 7100 rpm
Maximum Torque 304 nm (224 lb/ft, 31 kgm)
Torque Peak 5500 rpm

and heres the 1999 Zanardi special edition nsx. just for your benifit.

Drivertrain: mid- engine, rear wheel drive Engine: 3.2 liter, V-6
Horsepower: 290 bhp @ 7100 rpms Torque: 224 lbs/feet @ 5500 rpms

now....heres your 3.2l BMW motor

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2006/...x.html?vehicle[1].year=2004&vehicle[1].make=Acura&vehicle[1].model=NSX&vehicle[1].trim=1;2;5;14&vehicle[2].year=2006&vehicle[2].make=Mercedes-Benz&vehicle[2].model=SLK-Class&vehicle[2].trim=1154;33;5;14&vehicle[3].year=2007&vehicle[3].make=Mercedes-Benz&vehicle[3].model=SLK-Class&vehicle[3].trim=1154;33;5;14&vehicle.fullTrimId=
2006 BMW M3 Base Coupe Performance & Efficiency Standard Features
- 3,246 cc 3.2 liters in-line 6 front engine with 87 mm bore, 91 mm stroke, 11.5 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder
- Premium unleaded fuel 91
- Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 24 and EPA city (mpg): 16
- Multi-point injection fuel system
- 16.6 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank
- Power: 248 kW , 333 HP SAE @ 7,900 rpm; 262 ft lb , 355 Nm @ 4,900 rpm

so. honda has made a 3.2 liter dohc vtec motor. but BMW's 3.2l VANOS motor pwnes it.

btw.....learn something about cars other than honda. they didnt just copy vtec. the improved it. continuous variable valve timing > set RPM switch valve timing

one more thing. some people may bitch about the bmw having 11.5 to 1 compression. might say its cheating compared to the 10.2 to 1 on the nsx. guess what. you can boost that biotch no problem. heres one more thing honda motors dont have.....direct port injection...no not NAWSSS. fuel injectors right into the cylinder heads. allows you to have astronomically high compression ratio and still handle boost w/o detonation.

people like you are the reason everyone else looks down upon the honda "community". even people that dont give a ---- about cars think that we're jokes. learn something else. yea hondas are great. i love mine and the one i sold. but damn, know your place in the car world. we're already at the bottom, just above a geo. we dont need you to bring us down

im sorry. evidently honda thought the 3.2l motor was trash and decided to go to the 3.0l motor with less power. this is just one more excuse for you being retarded. just admit it

see. all you are seeing is that a small displacement car beat a slightly larger displacement car. therefore your dumbass is attempting to put 2 and 2 together....unfortunatly your coming up with 3 instead of 4. what im saying is that you seeing 1.6l beat 3.xl (depending on what year M3 it is), and you think, "hey that civic won cause he had more power per liter!" wrong. the civic ways a ---- ton less than the m3. thats called POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO. thats what wins races.

and when it comes to power/weight between say the 2002 nsx with the SAME 3.2l at 290hp. the weight is at 3153 which equals out to 10.8 lb/hp...not bad
and how does the bmw e46 M3 stack up to it. lets see..again the 3.2l BMW motor has 333hp. the weight is at 3415 which equals out to 10.2 lb/hp....YOU LOSE AGAIN

EDIT: sorry not much of a morning person. thanks rawr for fixing my mistake
