Okay, here's an update for those who care.

Motor is finally fully disassembled with a nice issue. Rod is bent, and sleeve is scratched inside the block. Not much though to make a difference. Bearings look go though, didn't spin any or nothin.

I will admit though this motor DID run strong even with a bent rod and blown head gasket. So, next time you run your motor through a puddle of water, this is what can happen.

Block is hopefully going to the machine shop tomorrow to get checked, honed, and whatever we feel it needs.

Here are some pictures. BTW, it was cylinder #1 with the bent rod.

Yeah, I'll have to show you one day if you're down for driving up in the daytona area. The power goal I'm shooting for is what Spiker reached, was around 250 whp at 10psi. I'd like to at least max out the stock map to 11psi, so who knows what I'll get. I feel the 450's will provide enough considering I'm running a solid 6 psi with the fmu, spiking 9. I dunno we'll see how it goes.

your intake is super high in the car. What kind of rivers are you crossing in an Accord?

I never ran the car through the water. I posted a long time ago what some local guy had done to his car when he was up in Georgia.

Here was his version.

Driving through a very small puddle, not realizing it was getting deeper, sucked water through his AEM intake which had a bypass valve, and hydrolocked the motor.

Car was towed back to FL, close to where I live, he got insurance money for the car, so he bought it back and sold it to me real cheap for 400.

I managed to get the car running 7 months ago, after it had been sitting for 6 months. Motor didn't knock, or nothing, couldn't even tell it had a bent rod. It ran every single day, and even saw WOT pulls in the parking lot.

UPDATE on the block. Sent it to the machine shop today, no bearings were spun, but rings are old and need to be retired. Crank will get polished, along with a hot tank for the block, honed, and a new/used rod. Also, we're just going to go ahead and replace all bearings, and make sure it's right so we don't have to mess around taking this ---- apart. He's only charging us 275 for what I just told you. He said it will be done by Friday, which is exactly when I'll have my ARP headstuds from Orlando. Oh, and btw, for those of you who care, the block had 175k on it.

are you boring the cylinders. every machinist i have ever talked to says that you have no choice after hot tanking. it distorts the bores

I'm not positive on that, but I will know by tomorrow on the status of block. He said he'd have it done by Friday.

So the block came back actually sooner than expected (Thursday). New rod, mains, journal bearings. I believe he didn't hot tank the block. He did hone it, not much though because we wanted to keep original bore. New rings also. He did sand blast the block pretty nicely, and gave the crank a polish. Charged me a lot less than expected. I got it all done for 200.

Now, all I need are a full gasket set, a few belts, and an original honda headgasket. Then, I'm all good to get it all put back together. I'm hoping to have the whole motor put back together by next Friday. Hopefully everything I order will be here before then. Pics will be seen on Monday.
