I think that it dumps more fuel to keep the ehxuast pressure up so its at full spool all the time? so it shoots out all the unburned ---- in between shifts?

Thanks. That would be my only guess too is at the high RPM is mad fuel and retarding timing. Oh well, still cool.

It's called mad retarded timing and fuel at around 7200 on a Z6 then reporting back with a cracked manifold.
