i wanted to make my gauge cluster blue to match all my gauges... i took all the bulbs out and took the faces off...i put transparent blue cutouts in and tried it....the main lights went on really dim then i smelled burning....i dont understand wtf is up because everything was exactly as it was before..just with blue plastic behind the faces....now im fucked with no light...

anyclue what the hell happened here?

no no, i didnt put anything on the bulbs i just cut a transparent blue folder in the same shape as the gauge faces (speedo, temp and fuel) then just put it behind....the bulbs stayed the same but for some reason fried...the fuse is fine...

nothing melted...there was nothing to melt.. it was just blue plastic butted up behind the face...

i just wanna know if anyone has had the bulb problem...when i plug it in, the bulbs dim the go out and fuse blows

You might've inadvertantly shorted something in the process of taking it apart and putting it back together.

yup, if you smell electrical fire, your fucked. bust out he multimeter and track it down
