So these engines eat rod/main bearings because they're so strong? I've seen so many 4g engines go like that I lost count ages ago.
There are better 4cyl engines than this. I can name at least the Cosworth YB engine, the Saab B engine, the Volvo B engine and the Fiat Twin cam.

And just because the OEM ECU can't be chipped so easily, that doesn't mean it's ok to use ---- like AFC. There are dozens of stand-alone ECUs on the market that'll do the job, you just need to cut a few wires in order to wire them in.

i personaly think the 4G63 is a good motor, its just everything around it that is ----
in one month i put 2K worth of parts into a 91 talon i had, but was runnin 21psi on the stock motor/fuel system without any problems
even had a spike when my MBC gave out that went above 25 and the motor was still perfectly fine, just blew an IC hose
