Nah, I don't plan on shooting every weekend. At most, it would be once every month or two. I have a bit too many hobbies as it is and they run my funding thin, so just want something to play with (with the added benefit of protection). Trying to stay as ignorant as possible to all the upgrades you can do so I don't get ideas and spend too much on something I'll rarely use

That's what I started with (top), and I recently got a Smith & Wesson M&P9C (bottom). It's like going from an old crx that's fun to a rowdy new camaro.

Here in MN you have to apply for a permit to purchase. It has a background check through the PD, and when you get that permit you can buy as many handguns as you want for 1 year, then you have to renew it.
As far as the concealed carry, you have to take a saftey class, then apply for that permit. The only saving grace is that MN is a "shall issue" state, which means as long as you're not an x-bankrobber, they have to give it to you. Much better than say KKKalifornia where you have to be a retired judge or other communist employee.

theres alot of guns that have a failure to eject (FTE) issue some guns just dont like certain types of ammo, glocks im sure have a much higher rate of problems with FTE than the kel-tec, especially when you shoot JHP rounds through them, but does fine with FMJ. also some people dont understand that alot of the "cheap-o range ammo" *cough-winchester-cough* burn really ------ dirty and have lots of carbon and smoke which can build up on the round slide going from the mag to the chamber.

Also it could be some people just don't know how to keep heir firearms properly maintained (well oiled and clean), especially those "it comes oiled from the factory ill just go shoot it right after i got it" people (those people are morons).

So if I buy a gun from and individual what should I do? I know someone who has a pistol, but he doesn't know crap about selling it to another individual.

simply put: go to a gun store with it ( IN A LOCKED CONTAINER! UNLOADED OF COURSE! ), and tell them you want to start a transfer... you both do paperwork...they will charge you the background check fee and their nominal transation fee. they will take possession of the firearm and after your state mandatory waiting period, you go pick it up

Yep. My 9ve would FTE with UMC ammo like 3/100, but with the winchester white box from wallymart it never had a problem. My M&P9C eats ------ for breakfast via Remington hallowpoints, and magtech at the range. Despite it's 4" barrel, I can put all 12 through the head or neck at 75 ft.

I'm sure I could have them run the serial and make sure it wasn't involved in any crimes. Just tell them I am looking at it?

DONT BE DUMB! YOU AND YOUR FRIEND CAN BE CRIMINALLY CHARGED AND EVEN MAY BE NEVER LEGALLY ALLOWED TO OWN A FIREARM!
people like your friend are the ------ retards in this world who make it harder for non-criminals to legally own.

people only do this under certain conditions:
1.) they are a felon and shouldnt have had a firearm in the first place.. therefore they obtained it illegally and selling it illegally
2.) the gun is stolen and hey no way to trace it back to them.

There are reasons people have to go through a process when purchasing a firearm, if i handed off one of mine and they killed someone with it whos liable? thats would be me.... it can only at any time be transfered without paperwork when you are letting a non-felon immediate family member take possession.
