It's more that America hasn't liked turbo 4cyl versions of cars when there is a V8 version, such is the case for the 84 to 87 mustang. They tried to market something more fuel efficient with similar peak power and it failed.. why? Daily driving torque. If they put a V8 in an Evo or something and sold it here it would definitely outsell the 4cyl turbo version.
Btw cornfuzed you're a moron, in case no one's told you before. If I were Ford I wouldn't "like" turbos either when I have a perfectly viable V8 platform that could be made more fuel efficient (like what Chevy did) and would sell more units than a turbo 4.
I can understand why the RX8 is 2 door with the ****** half doors though... "4 doors" are more marketable than 2 doors. But the lack of turbo (or even a NA 3 rotor 20B) doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

the new style is an improvment,
to be honest when that car first came out i was in love, but i dont like it so much now that im not 16 and think anything new is cool
And yea they shoud throw a turbo on it, cause the rotary is poop with out the boost
