true. www.club4ag.com is a good place to start, but i think the site is down for "maintenance" currently. Read up guy. I am in the process of making a ae92 corolla (same engine) "go fast". I am currently piecing together a cheap turbo set up. These engines are by no fricking means boost friendly, but hay, how many na engines are? A smarter move on my part would have been to swap in a big port 4age 16v, 4agze forged pistons and rods and boost from there and have a much safer and better platform, but i am a cheap ****. A low boost 4afe will perform just as well if not better as a silver top or black top 20v swapped corolla which only puts down about 125-135whp. So if you want my opinion fi is the way to go. Or you can always just run a small shot of nitrous like 50 or 65 shot, you can even build your homemade nitrous kit out of house hold stuff if you dont wanna spend 500 bucks for 50hp. www.nitrous.info . Which ever way you choose. Read up first before you buy anything.

Not as fast as a turbo 4A-FE. Trust me. I know. Then again, the turbo 4A-FE ate like 2-3 auto transmissions.

Just grab a smallish turbo and get a log manifold together. If your engine is relatively fresh, then they can take just under 15psi before you send a rod through the block. Given that the car is currently 13 years old at best, I would stay well under 10 unless you're going to rebuild.

and even if you blow your 4afe, they are dirt cheap, as cheap as a d16. The only prob i see here is gettin the ecu chipped to run turbo edit or something. Anyone ever done it before? I wil pm xenon to find out if he can .

sweet ill probly end up boosting my corrola auto since there is so many spare engines at pick n pull .. ! oh any body know if wat mt tranny will fit the corrola motor 4afe? stock motor i think its the code for it corect me if im wrong..
anyways i will want to do a manule swap in it since someone said its gonna eat the tranny plust its a 3 speed and the turbos power add wont make a big enough diffrenc in acceleration if its gonna be a 3 spd cuz i have a dx hatch turbod adn the dx gearing suck *** so i would want short gearing on the rolla to make it go fast.. let me know wat you know about the tranny swap and interchanges thanks

I think all the "a" series engines came with interchangerable trannies, i.e t50 etc. My buddy has a jdm 16v engine and tranny in his garage so i am gonna be using that, i will chec the exact code later. What set up are you running on your turbo hatch ?

i have a eGAy drag nock off manifold fake tial wg and t3 t4 turbo .50/.63 ar ratios im just working out a deal on getting a ex tranny from a guy here on hmt... cant wait to get them (high ratio/tall) gears for FAST acceleration.. im drewling already i miss my old 95 ex it was fast wiht only 4 psi on a small egay t3 and log mani.. 4psi only cuz i bought a tial turbonetics wg used on ebay and some moron cut the spring and thats why it only had 4psi but it was fun enough that i never messed around to get a stiffer spring plus my fuel managment was a sds injector controller running 2 stock injectors glued into the charge pipe be for the TB yes they were screaming almsot wide open at wot high rpm..

well heres the rest of my set up
crome
p28
450cc+crx risistor box
mx-6 sidemount IC
home made dp and exhaust 2.25"(hangs too low looking for a ricer exhaust now dont wanna spend more than a 100)
home made charge pipes out of black abs plastic and some steel bend by the turbo cuz its too hot over there and a volvo bov on its origiannl 90* bend
volvo blue silicon boots baby.!
home depo black 2.5 in conectors (they are increadably storong they are braided inside with someting but the elbos arnt
tahts why one keeps on poping on me afer a few weeks..
double up worm clamps on the non bevled piping ends and holds 10 psi and 14 a few times no problems yet just one elbow keeps on poping...
oil feed via stock oil sensor choped and welded a AN-4 fitting to it and a ss bariaded line to a junction block that spices offf my oil psi guage and stock dummy light and then a adjustable valve to drop the oil flow to the turbo and runs the oil through a greas gun hose to the turbo rated at 3k psi! should be pleanty i think!
and 10 psi on a base map for now..
my ghetto engine what you think alot of ppl say wat all there wires and ----! idk but it works!

volvo bov! and stock air box! the best ---- out there OEM!

this is the most ganster part

the oil feed

wat inside looks like my egay ricer guages and ----

injectors 450s

the turbo t3 t4 .50/.63 ar's alos an eGay pice
eGay wg and atmosphere dump tube.

heres the side of my car its ghetto alright..

anouther pic of the motor and the airbox
