It used to be, that when you went to resale a car, that there really wasn't a way to check it's history. So all used cars were worth about the same amount, by default. These days, a prospective buy can check the history of any car, and know if it's been wrecked or not. So if you were looking at two identical cars, and one had been wrecked and repaired, while the other one hadn't, you would place a higher value on the un-wrecked one, right? I think most people would.

This means that no matter how good of a repair you have done to the car, it will never be worth what it was before Mercedes Moron wrecked it for you. In my personal sense of fairness, you need to be compensated for this loss of value, or you need a brand new replacement car. This should come from Mercedes Moron's insurance company, or from Mercedes Moron himself. You had a brand new unwrecked/unrepaired car before the accident, and you should have one after, or be compensated for the difference. It's not right that you get penalized with a lower value repaired car, because of his mistake and he "didn't see you".

I would start pushing the insurance company for a replacement car. If they hedge, get a personal injury lawyer. You never know what kind of problems will come later in life, if you got hit hard enough to black out.

Tell them you want them to write it off and you want a new car. Lawyers can do good things for you in these situations.

blacked out? oh man you've got this made. you can sell that easy. yeah its shitty about your car but thats what insurance is for. they will pay to get it fixed or at least replaced, if not theres where the lawyer comes in, its cake, you've got medical charges, and repair charges, this guys up ---- creek.

Absolutely do not talk to the other parties insurance company. I just got in a huge wreck a couple weeks ago and only had liability. We are now sueing the woman, but her insurance company is shady as ----. my advice is to get in contact with a good attorney and avoid talking to the other parties insurance. also, airbags are expensive as **** to replace...on my 98 civic, the quote was something like 1200 just to do drivers and passenger front airbags in parts alone

The airbags for my 95 civic were even more because they have to replace both airbags and some kind of computer that controls them, so I can't imagine what an 07si's airbags cost. You might get away with totaling the car-- I got $700 to replace my driver side fender when a girl backed into it. All your parts you need to replace from Honda is going to add up fast, and if it comes to more than the value of your car, its totaled-- hello new car. What I would do if you don't plan on ever selling it, or at least not for a long time, I would take the money they gave me and fix it myself for way cheaper. Use the extra to see how much boost those k's will take Thats just me though, and I'm a ghetto ****

Hate that ---- when people stop to make a turn and everyone is moving traffic. Especially on I-5 going to I-405 people just stop right on the freeway to make a turn, and almost makes the whole freeway hit them, pisses me off.
