Default ~400 dollars in frame work vs hood pins?

basically this del sol i bought had the coresupport/rebar lined up to the old hood which was smashed in.. my guesstimate is that it will take 400 bucks for a shop to fix it up so that the hood can latch shut.. then theres the mother ------- latching mechanism itself and the hood cable which were fucked.. so right now my choices are cough up the money and fix all this little random ---- which will take alot more time and money..

or spend >50 bucks on a set of locking hood pins and remove the latch/bracket off the hood and it will align up and close perfectly..

bah...

We had a hood that wouldn't latch due to a front end issue.

Few beats of the hammer later, the latch lined up and worked.

this is beyond fucked up tho.. the kid who sold me the car had someone cut and reweld a coresupport/rebar off of another del sol.. the entire ------- thing is cut too short.. so it will take more than frame work to fix it.. i dont think it can be stretched that far via frame machine without breaking the entire thing off...

Yeah they are just cheap pieces of ----.

I love the "I detail my 94 Civic beater every weekend" kid.

I would just go with the pins. From what you say it won't even look fucked from the outside anyway.

if the core support is that out, how the hell does the bumper, headlight line up

we pulled mine so the hood would latch and looks 100% better than it did but the bumer/ headlight on the drivers side has about a half inch of gap-dont notice it unless you fixed it/ look really hard

the core support isnt out.. its in.. for me to fix it i could try to pull it with a frame machine which would ---- it up or i can cut it add some extensions and reweld it.. which would be a pain in the ***.. not to mention that it would put my car outta service for a couple days.. something i cant afford to do.. ----

right now its a little off but if i completly remove the latching mechanism from the car.. and the little metal latchy thingy on the hood.. it will sit flush or be just a little off.. (nothing that pushing the bumper out with washers cant fix..)

ghetto i know but idk.. the car is growing on me and i dont think i want to sell it anymore.. you wouldnt even be able to tell the difference from the outside of the car anyways..

now to find some stockish looking or discreet hoodpins.. lol

what do you people think?

i need to go and take some measurements.. find out where to mount these *******..

or some regular hood pins..

who here thinks i should paint the hood black? lol

right now its pearl white and looks like ---- at night.. cant really tell during the day.. and the whole carbon fiber look is kinda cool.. plus it will hide the hood pins well when the hood is black?
