When me and my lawyer got there, the guy was completely uncooperative. That's when my lawyer dropped the paperwork for a civil lawsuit on the table. The guy read it, looked at all of our evidence (pictures, interviews, police report, printouts of the colorado statute that say he's liable), and immedeately folded. Basically my lawyer was going to sue him for the ---- that was taken, court fees, his legal fees, my loss of wages fees, my emotional distress fees, etc. at a total of $17,000.00. As long as I have my my total collision fixed there, he'll upgrade me to a JDM conversion, a set of recaros, and a lifetime warranty on paint and parts, as well as cashing me out my full $500 deductable

I think I would rather sue him for the 17K.
at least some justice is there...

yeah, but what my lawyer told me was basically he stacked allegations on the lawsuit to scare the guy. I never missed any work from it, and had no reason to. If the guy had a half-competent lawyer, the emotional distress and loss of wages fees would be excluded. The only charges i would win is court fees, lawyer fees, and the loss. The court fees would go to the court, the lawyer fees would go to the lawyer, and the parts would go to buying recaros and my conversion anyway

BUAHAHAHHAHA my lawyer is a shady piece of ----, i'm reading the paperwork now...On one lawsuit (the one he showed the tow yard) it says i make $2000 dollars A DAY and missed 2 days of work, and was "unable to his complete daily tasks and transactions due to deep emotional scarring, induced by the trajic loss of the plaintiff's leather interior," and further saying "there is unrepairable damage to his personal life and home relationship due to the economic and emotional impact the aforementioned loss has inflicted on the plaintiff."
Total of grossly inflated loss of wages, and emotional distress fees: 11,000.00
Lawyer fees: 3,000.00
Court fees: 125.00
Documented parts: 3,000.00
So, in the end after the wages and emotional distress were thrown out of court, i woulda walked out of there with 3 grand. I figure Recaros are worth $1000.00 each, and the JDM conversion is about $1000.00 more than the quote i got for the USDM front end replacement from my insurance for the accident. So I break even in the end, don't have to go through all that court bullshit, and i get my $500 deductable paid back to me. ------- sweet
I know it's kinda fucked up to screw the shop like that, but hey, they stole my ---- and tried to tell me that they wouldn't replace my ----. meh, whatever i'm happy
