And also said he tried scratching it with a screwdriver and it wasnt as bad.I think he did that afer a couple of days after painting it,theres more post on letting it cure Some guy says something that the proffesional grade rustoleum works better.

Yes I read the whole thing. My eyes hurt last night from reading it. I did read where it said they were 2 different things, that's what I was saying earlier. But there is another post on there, that the guy in the Orange Charger posted from a tech. It said that Rustoleum's "Stop Rust" was very close to Tremclad. He posted it on like page 10 or something, I can't remember, and nobody even really acknowledged it, but I saw it. Said that the Stop Rust is an Alkyl based enamel, which is exactly what the Tremclad was. I have no idea what paints those guys are using anymore, they're testing ones, but I was getting confused as it seemed they keep looking at different ones rustoleum sells, so I quit trying to figure out what the heck they were using and do the research on my own. That link I posted in my opinion seems like the stuff that would probably work, and seems to be about as close to Tremclad as we'll get here in the states. I'm not spending 50 bucks on gas to drive from Minneapolis to the border to get that crap, and risk getting it taken away when I cross the border anyway. So I am going to find somewhere who sells the stuff in the link I put up, and try it on my own because the tests the other guys are doing are just confusing me.

My neighbor is an auto painter by professionb...just yesturday i was talking to him about redoing the exterior of my civic. his suggestion was to do all the prep work my self then to take it to maaco...under the theory that their p[reppers only get paid minimum wage but their actuakl painters arent bad. he suggested i use the roll on primer (the brand he mentioned was sherwin williams) instead of spray can primer, becauser the spray can stuff is lacquer based and there is a reason lacquer based paint isnt still around. he said the roll on is fine, but that i might have to sand the occasional brush stoke down

That's exactly what I had planned on doing. I figure their sprayers spray so many dang cars, they have to be decent at their job to be able to spray as many cars as they do, plus obviously they'll have a good amount of experience because of it too. Just their prep sucks from what I've heard. So I planned on doing that myself, and then just bringing it to maaco to get sprayed. But ---- if this stuff works, then I figure it's alteast worth a shot! If it doesn't work, well then oh well I'm out 50 bux, and I'll just go the maaco route again!
