$2009 Grassroots Motorsports Build
Bringing it home Feb 7th
I need some thoughts on the $09 GRM car. My car is rusted to hell , but I have:
Built Z6 , Eville manifold , Vitara's , TT rods , To4 turbo , 660 cc RC's ,
Koni's (for an ef) Coilovers (GC) Sparco seat, Revo Wheels , Hoosiers, Fuel cell...ect
I found this locally
I would need an engine wiring harness / head and taillights, cluster, tranny, hood and a fender. It has front and rear bumpers , gutted doors.. Would make a real light weight street track car.
I found a pretty rust Free EF for $900 , but ---- me , $900 for an EF shell is a bit steep
Any thoughts?
$200 for this bad boy.

Re: Advice for $09 GRM car
i want to do this someday. GRM is sponsoring a similar thing out here in so cal.
it's called the grand challenge. i was gonna do that, but before GRM became a sponsor it looked like the event wasn't gonna happen.

Re: Advice for $09 GRM car
Bought it.
goin to get it this weekend. Car is clean , original paint , underside is mint. It had a B20 in it. Even has brand new snow tires on it.
The car also has PS, something I wanted. Lots of Autocrossers (EF/EG's) are taking the 12V electric PS pump from last Gen MR2's and using them. Should be more then enough to steer the 13x9 Diamond's I just got.
I willstart a build thread in OG Soon

Re: Advice for $09 GRM car
I can use what I have.
Just bought a CX tranny for $40 and a engine wiring harness for $50 (92-95 Vtak)
as un HMT as it is , I gotta do a wire tuck and smooth the engine bay. I never realized the level to which these guys take things.
The car will be gutted 100% as the old one was.
I am bringing it home next weekend. 1st stop is the DIY car wash with some superclean. Gonna hose down the engine bay. Then head home and start removing things and welding holes shut.
I will have this ****** on the road by april 15th.
Rust and BS wiring problems set us so far back last time. Every bolt on the old car had to be plasma'd or cut out with an angle grinder.
---- that. The kid I got the shell from put new suspension on it last year (some generic ----) , new brakes and a few other things. the underside is minty fresh. even has a new gas tank in it.
Old setup going into new car (less the tranny)
2nd place cars engine bay
Xenocron isn't too far down the road, I think the 5 or so Hr Drive will be worth it to have it tuned properly.
