I'm thinking most of the air is from the hole cut out for "drainage" or whatever in the bay.

Actually, since the new civic has a MAF (which is a complete pain in the ***, by the way), some intakes do throw off the AFR's. I'm not sure if it's because their MAF housings are no good or what.
