VG30e D21 Turbo Conversion
Hi Im new here, from NZ and am in the process of adding a turbo to my Daily Driver 1995 nissan D21 Navara Crew cab (hardbody in USA)
The ute is a RHD factory vg30e Manual and i would like to keep the setup looking reasonably factory and sleeper.
I am guessing the engine has somewhere between 90 and 100kw at present and I would like to make a minimum of 200rwkw out of the setup and keep it as responsive as possible. (240kw would be nice)
Basic setup will consist of:
Nistune (yet to purchase)
Fuel pump- either walbro 500hp intank or custom surge tank and external pump
Already have:
370cc injectors
RB20det Afm
2x 38mm wastegates
Rx7 series 5 intercooler frontmounted with custom made end tanks
Will custom make a 3" exhaust turbo back
The current turbo I have Is a new IHI RH_6 Twin scroll. The compressor wheel is close to a t3 50 trim size with approx an inducer of 42.5mm and 60mm exducer.
I Plan to flip the passengers Exhaust manifold and top/mid mount the turbo on passengers side where aircon compressor would go (factory no aircon)
I would like to run a twin scroll setup with one bank going to each scroll as the piping from the drivers side will be comparatively long.
This is not my first turbo project, I also have a R32 Skyline which I have a rb30det for and is currently making 450whp on under 14psi.
I feel as if the compressor wheel is too small and will be limiting power. From the information I have found it wont flow much more than 280hp, max of 330.
If any one has any input on turbo selection that would be great.
I think Ideally I will need something more along the lines of a t04e.
