Default Turbo for a Jeep 2.4

Been working through the research and part acquiring portion of a turbo project and have hit a wall. I know there is a ton of knowledge here and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm looking to turbo the 2.4 in my liberty, the motor has been successfully pressurized already in a wrangler, a fairly extensive write up is here if anyone is interested, Turbocharged 2.4L Jeep TJ for me!!! - RENO4X4.COM . My problem with outright copying this set-up is that I don't want to lose my A/C after flipping the turbofold. I've been looking at ebay srt4 cast manifolds and think I found the answer. The manifold has a t3 flange and will locate the turbo lower clearing all the accessories. The internet has proved useless in locating a compressor map for the stock srt unit and I'm hoping some one here might provide some insight on what would be the nearest t3 relative of the TD04LR-15GK-6cm. The goal is use usable power for towing, and daily driving, knowing the success of the wrangler project I would like to find a turbo that mimics as close as possible the stock srt piece. I've looked at hundreds of maps but have no idea how they relate to the stock unit.
I could always sell it and buy something with more guts but that would cost me more that turbocharging it, I have a lot of time into other areas of the liberty and besides what fun would that be?

I would go with a HX52 at a minimum........ no really, a small T3/T4 or a T28 should spool low enough to be useful for towing. A 14b or a s16g would also be good choices, but of course, the flange would need to be swapped.

Thanks for the suggestions, I haven't looked a whole lot at the holeset turbo's yet, but I'm on it. The biggest reason I am looking to stay as close to possible to the stock SRT turbo is that it has been used on the wrangler motor for over 20k miles at 6psi with no mods other than larger injectors. Obviously there is a lot more potential with tuning which can come later if need be. I have no idea what numbers he is putting down as he has never been to a dyno, but it has been monitored and all the A/F numbers are fine.

If I had to set a Hp goal I would like to end up with numbers similar to, or a little better than, the stock v-6 which puts out 210hp/235tq. For a reference the 2.4 currently puts out 150hp/165tq, so it's not that big of a leap. There is an Avenger supercharger kit claiming "over 190hp" and %40 increase in torque which equates to about 230 ft/lbs. They claim to make this increase with 4.5-5psi, intercooled. Again that kit has no other fueling mods than larger injectors. Hard to believe the Chrysler ecm is that adaptable, but apparently it is. I have no idea how accurate it is but the Ray Hall applet suggests that a t25 .63a/r would reach 220 hp at 6psi. Which would be great if it were true, although the .80's seem easier to find. I have also been looking at t3-60 series, the "big" 16g.

Anbody else have an opinion? I know the "what turbo" question has been beat to death but ther is just no one around me to have even a basic turbo conversation with. I've got the rest of the set up worked out, just need to figure the turbo out.

I have seen that site, but I am looking to boost the 2.4 dohc motor similar to the neon/stratus. Ordered up a small intercooler and boost gauge today. My goal is bit this of in pieces to avoid a lot of down time. Still looking for some input on the turbo. The T3 60 looks promising. Looks like it should spool quickly right in the meat of the compressor map. I also plugged it into the squirell performance calc and it looks about perfect. The k26 and k27 look good as well but are much more expensive and harder to come by. I am also trying to stay with a T3 flange.

the least amount of downtime would to get a donor ptcruiserGT/srt-4 and take everything over from the manifold turbo to the ECU+harness. If another guy out there has a fwd manifold that works on his jeep engine that sounds like a cakewalk from the no need to fabricate anything standpoint. Its a "homemade swap" from then on but I would appreciate it just the same! Losts of t3 flanged manifolds for the srt-4 out there.

Default Any luck?

Hi, I have been searching the web to find someone who had turbo charged a 2.4 liberty... Did you have success with your project?
