Toyota 2AZ-FE turbo?
Im thinking of fitting a turbo to my 2AZ-FE 2.4 litre engine with a 9.6:1 compression ratio, im guessing 6 to 7 psi will be a safe boost for this cr and stock pistons and as im only looking for 200 flywheel horse power it may even be a lower boost than that, anyone here got any experience on this engine or at least boosting an engine with this compression ratio?

I was running 9 PSI on a 10:1 cr engine. For every PSI i took out one degree of timing to be safe. I guess it was very conservative, because although I felt the increase in power, I'm pretty sure more power would have been possible with 9 PSI. I used 98 RON.

Movement on this at last, i finally got time to test fit my turbo and manifold (i wasn't about to buy more stuff if it didn't fit) and it fits
I have now been on a spending spree and have intercooler (from an MR2) external waste gate, Aeromotive rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a oil feed kit for the turbo.....
im getting a custom made down pipe made up on Wednesday and then the fun will begin, the only issue i haven't got sussed exactly is the oil return, i know its possible but i haven't yet finalised plans exactly, will take sump off to investigate where to drill..... work begins proper on Thursday.

Mark !!! Your turbo looks beautiful.
I'm using the same manifold on my car.
I've got a 2008 Scion xB2.
I built the entire thing myself with an eBay kit, so
I know exactly what you're going through.
It is a major PITA, but the rewards are amazing.
Currently, my wastegate is set to about 5 PSI, but
since my car is completely stock otherwise, I haven't
really pushed the car close to that amount of boost.
I always quarter/half throttle it to avoid running lean.
Other than that, I haven't had any major engine issues.
Um ... the oil return, I tapped into the oil pan with some
AN fittings that were bolt on.
I'm not sure if we have the same pan and
clearance on the inside, though.
Here's a picture of my setup as of now.
I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished product.
