Smog pump supercharger for my 250.
Hi guys, I want to supercharge my baby ninja and was planning on going down the smog pump route. I'm not looking for too much of an increase, I think about 5-8psi should be plenty. I'm looking for a 20-30% increase in power. I really don't have much knowledge of forced induction, so I'll need all the help I can get. What parts will I need, how I can source/make them, etc... Cheers!!!

This sounds a bit challenging. I'm not sure there's an external pulley you could get to drive the pump to begin with, and you'd need to have some way to measure how much air the pump moves per revolution to get started. If it's not at least half the size of your engine, I'd pass on that idea.

I saw this and thought of YOU
Check out this link not a cheap smog pump but plenty of food for thought
the bikes
you could still do the smog pump but you would need to do quite a bit of tail and error ps watch out for melted pistons Exspensive!!!!!!!!
gear it down and have a pressure gauge after the charger dont over boost it
maybe even turn it over with NO ignition to get some idear of wot boost you are getting limit it to a low number eg 5 to 6 psi before even thinking of testing with ignition, think about timming and set it to run ritch before you start it up better to run poor but ritch than lean and melt your engine!!!!!.
could be tricky but then if we dont try we dont gain.
any how hope this helps good luck
