(Nsfw) Turbo mitsi L300 van
Hey just posting up my latest toy. Its a 2000 Mitsubishi L300 van with a 2.4L 4G64. The engine had a standard rebuilt when the previous owner had a broken the timing belt and bent valves. I built a cheap *** log manifold and used a IHI VF23 non intercooled with a 50/50 Alky water mix. I wired in a haltech ecu i had at home that seems to do the job ok. I had to put a lsd in the back and this things still loose in the dry in 3rd gear haha. Its got a pie cut inlet to a pod filter that sits where the standard one was. I made a 3inch dump from the turbo that goes to a home made muffler and dumps before the diff, the muffler is fucken ugly but it is straight through 3inch and is quiet until it goes above 4000rpm on boost. I had to heat wrap my down pipe and make a heat shield for the turbo after my engine bay sound deadener/heat shield material caught on fire and melted my carpet inside the cab lol 
. I still need to tune it for high boost since the Alky has only been finished today. This turbo conversion has cost ---- all (all the 3 and 2 1/2 inch bends were free off cuts) and i had a very limited welding skills when i started. Its great fun getting 1-2 van length in front of a skyline or a wrx when playing at the traffic lights haha 
. The van weighed in at 2900lbs at the weigh bridge with me and a 1/4 tank, Im hoping for around 300whp.
The I love lawn bowls sticker and the fake pipe make for a good sleeper

Well the van was falling on its face above 5000rpm. So today we put a turbo cam in, I also dialed it in to the specs they gave me. The one problem I faced was the fact that the cam comes out the back of the head which would need the engine removed to swap cams 
. Being the cheap *** i am I came up with the Idea to cut a hole in my fire wall and remove the cam that way. . I just folded the fire wall back and taped it up, I plan on welding it up later. . I tuned my AFR's but still have a lame timing curve, I will spend some time tuning next week and get some vids.

it just warms my heart to see someone come up with the solution of Cutting the firewall and then patchin with Duct tape. I love this Van. Please hurry and get it on the road cause we need a Smokey burnout pic for the front page.
