Hey all HMT.com! Hope you can live with my little introduction on here.
Looking forward to being on this site, seems like a LOT of ingenuity floating around here.. No boosted projects as of yet but I've got some plans, right now I'm just raping fast cars on my stock 91 tercel with r-comp tires and sway bars.. I was looking at doin a JDM turbo swap, but now that I see the motor I have is pretty decent for boost I'm thinking I'll save my gold pieces and spend less for more!
Right now all I have under my belt is a basic understanding of cars (my dad is an *almost* master tech for toyota) and a big want for speed! I've read through Maximum Boost once already and learned a lot from that, hopefully I can apply it to myself soon.. Not sure what else to say..
I'm going to find myself a used nice working turbo and get a manifold fab'd for me and just over all do a nice clean job on this thing, cheap is the objective, not ghetto.. I'll probably use Emanage down the road if that is possible, start off with SAFC firstly.
here is a picture of my car, its got 325k miles on the body, engine, not so sure.. but I have a long block in my garage!
First question:
I have read that ebay turbo kits are terrible (the type with turbos that have no casting other than the a/r on the compressor side) but how are the quality of the other parts like intercoolers?

That is what I was originally thinking, bolt in swap, etc etc, but the only guy I trust to get me a clean motorset with warranty tells me its going to be $1,500 canadian, and I just don't have the cash for that right now.

that's a clean looking car for sure..
but yeah everyone eventually has to move up in the world, i'm 17 so driving a boosted tercel will do for now, eventually i'll drive something "nicer"
Come summer I hope my ae86 will be my DD though.

heh! yeah I've had it since last april, it's treated me good.. boost will be glorious, won't just be beating the expensive cars in the corners at the track days!
