Felpro is a brand for cheap composite headgaskets. He's talking about stacking 2 stock headgaskets, but that will affect your cam timing.

The sc14 isnt big enough to be anything "more effecient" than the sc12.

Thicker head gasket is not your solution. The static compression ratio isnt your problem. 10:1 is fine for a turbo street car with proper tuning. A metal HG will be in your future though if you pursue this project.

The Sc14 is big enough however, to put the shitty factory maps into chaos mode, you WILL run lean. The stock supercharged ecu is a joke, and on top of that you will be running a larger than stock supercharger with no intercooler(which is a mistake) and the computer CANNOT compensate for its maps at WOT>read engine carnage.

Really thinking about a homemade sink trap using the stock piece.
You do know that the stock cast manifold tappers enough at the 3/4 point to cut, and weld on a t3 flange right? You dont need to build a manifold....

Why is it that you dont want an intercooler? Water to air is your friend with an mr2.....OR if you have a sawzall trunk mount one. IC's arent that expensive anymore. If you cant afford even a shitty one, you cant afford a turbo car period.

what hes trying to say is, at the least, intercool it, and at preferably intercool and megasquirt or some other tuning solution. if you retard the dizzy enough to make it not blow itself apart, idle will at the least suck as will off boost driving.

Lol im slow. I get it now. I guess i will try to trade the sc14 for a sc12 and a "shitty" fmic . Also thinking about trying out a similar set up like what that guy had on his aw11 mr2. Think his name was 86mista2. Its in the projects sticky. Cut stock stock manifold and and a t25. Got a friend with a t25 and a fmic laying in his garage. Might try to talk him into trading it for the sc14. He also has two of the gze intercoolers and a sc12 too.

I bought all the parts i have from him, he will also be helping me with the install on the car too. I can always trade the parts back with him for other stuff he got laying around but dont have any spare cash left to buy anything else.

The non intercooled sc14 is out the window now. Trying to decide between a a full factory sc12 set up with the gze intercooler or if i get lucky the fmic. Or option two, similar set up like the mr2 guy. One last thing, i have a ae92 levin not a mr2.

Why yes. I have built a few turbo/supercharged 4a's thanks for asking. Hince the fact that Im trying to veer him towards some kind of standalone, ms, etc. Ringlands on 4a's fail because of det. and spikes in cylinder pressure. Which is why retarding the dizzy isnt his solution.

Traded the springs for some piping and a 4agze or 3sgte intercooler, not really to sure which it came from . Compared it to another gze intercooler we had and its a bit bigger. Gonna mount it somewhere behind the bumper til i get a bigger fmic. Got a friend with a wide band that will be helping with the installation and tuning.

Also just found out that shell is selling some new v-power fuel that they claim is 100 octane. still waiting on confirmation on that . The guys in antigua with 500+ whp starlets , civics, skylines, levins etc are all claiming it works well

So.....how did it go?

How much boost did you end up running....?

I'm thinking of doing the same!
