Turbo focus is a very good idea. THese engine can take some abuse.
I personnaly own a turbo focus and I love it.

the reason high boost is a bad idea is due to the high compression ratio

i have been boosting 9 psi on my ZX3 for the last 3 years and no problems!
On the SVT, as explained by others, you can't really boost more even if it's a stronger engine because of the higher compression but in turns, the same amounts of boost will make more power on the SVT.

well ive been trying to peice together a turbo kit for my focus for about the last month now, and the one think i discovered is that there is no ------- room in the engine bay, so if you have a turbo that you cant rotate the exhast inlet and compressor housing your in for a fun ride. a couple pointer for a turbo focus make sure it is a draw thourgh system and if the black is the same as a ZX3 then their some torx screws in the back of the block you can tap in for oil.

and im getting the car tuned by steeda so no need to buy expensive flashers or ECU's

I wish I was closer to steeda when i did my tuning it just got to be so much money with that flash tuner, i spent about $800 on all the turbo parts but the management was another $800.

i got the whole pro racer package for $650 when they came out with the xcal2 setup. ive been boosting 10psi for about a year and a half now and i love my turbo focus. also the space issues i resolved by ditching a/c, and then pulling the radiator/fan assembly butt-up against the front bumper core support, and drilled holes through the upper core support for new mounts. gave me an extra 3-4" in there. ive also relocated my battery to the stock airbox location.

cp is so much easyer to run when you move the battery to the stock airbox location. also how well does that sct pro race work and do you need to xcal flasher with it?

guys wats up im a new member i have a focus svt i want to do a hmt on my focus svt i want know wat kind of turbocharger i can use my engine is to 2.0. my goal hp is 200whp-230whp and wat is the average cost for a homemade turbo kit. also i was thinking of doing a rear mount but trying to decide. wat do u guys think front mount turbo or rear
