The 222 hp dyno was done with a bad knock sensor with my modded ECU installed. The same day I swapped the ECU back to the stock ECU and it only did about 150 hp with the bad knock sensor. I have to assume I would be around 230-240 WHP if the knock sensor wasn't bad, with my upgraded ECU. I didn't want to pay another $100 to get another baseline dyno done before installing the turbo so the jump could be significant from baseline NA to the new boosted #'s.

I checked out the pathfinder, that's a cool setup. That would be fun off road.

Gonna try to get some videos today....

You aren't a n00b, you just have a low post count.

Nice job with your car!

I'm highly impressed with your setup.

Clean install overall, and a lot of creativity.

Only thing I would be careful of is rain/snow/water on roads/potholes. ---- like that that could get the turbo wet and get f'ed up.

I'll bet the oil feed line was pretty expensive considering it's about 20 feet long.

Must take a while for boost to come in. Long *** charge pipes, let alone spooling.

That sir is ------- badass! That thing has a mean *** growl to it with just a little throttle but overall it's one of the best sounds I've heard in quite some time. The older Q45's can be found pretty dirt cheap also not to mention I think the Lexus LS400's would be a good candidate for the same setup. How much do you have sunk into it so far? Also are you planning on running an IC or just leave it the way it is? What kind of tuning programs do they have for them?

Actually, a majority of the welding was flux core stuff! Only a few of the welds were done with gas mig because I did them at work. The welder I took home I didn't bother to use gas for simplicity and it came out decent anyway. After I get some tuning done so I can get the boost cranked up I will have methanol injection and may add an IC later on. I already have to redo the front section of the compressor pipe, the current one is my first attempt and I already knew it was too low but I wanted to get the car on the road so I used it for now. Already scraped it a half dozen times on small bumps/dips. I just have to make a new one that's tucked up higher where it goes under the motor.

Shot a few videos today. I'm a little disappointed because you can't hear the turbo sound as much as in real life. Part of the problem was that I was starting with the gated shifter in 1st and when I let off the throttle all you hear is the engine revving as I decelerate and it overpowers the turbo sound. A couple are ok, but I am going to shoot some more and just leave it in drive and not use 1st.

Here is the first batch of videos, more to come as I figure out how to better capture the experience.

Higher speed flyby video...

Demo of the BOV sound at low boost, around 1 psi, turn up the volume and you can hear the BOV...

In car video showing RPM and boost gauge. Not very exciting but I included it anyway.

Revving engine while parked, definitely hear the turbo on this one. A little like the one I posted previously but I think sounds better.

great job mang!

judging by the pump & the tips, you must have come across the RMT build on Z24 Cavy on KHturbofab.net

the one thing i would change about your set up, is the exhaust...i would have ran the stock size pipe as far back as possible, them huge jumps to the bigger size pipes is hurting spool, by losing exhaust gas velocity i could bet money you could get full spool at least another 500rpm sooner with the stock pipe all the way to the turbo

A few people suggested that as well, smaller tubing. I went from two 1 7/8" tubes to a single 2.5" so the actual area of my new pipe is smaller than the two stock pipes. Two 1 7/8" OD tubes has a total area of 2.76" OD and my single 2.5" OD pipe has an area of <2.5". I don't think I have a problem there but I could be wrong. I'm just going by the numbers. The wrap on the tail section is to keep in the heat to help lag. After driving it for a bit now I don't feel there is really any lag to speak of. I've been in a few turbo vehicles and mine spools faster than most of them. Off the line I'm at full boost around 3k which is only a few seconds. If I'm already rolling at 15-20+ mph and hit it I'm at full boost in about 1-2 seconds.

Anyway, not to concerned about lag now, it spools plenty fast. My focus now is getting the tuning done so I can crank up the boost! Get a little power and you want MORE! This is a dangerous situation

Turned a few heads on the way to work today, lol.
