1994 Infiniti Q45 rear mount turbo project
Browsed the site a few times during my research and finally just joined to share my project. The vehicle, as stated above, is a 1994 Infiniti Q45 with a 4.5 liter V8. I'm using a T70 Master Power turbo, Tial wastegate, and tial BOV. I'm using a Shurflo 8000 series pump to scavenge the oil from the turbo. I have done all the fabrication and installation myself and think it's turning out nice. I plan to get it on the road by the end of this weekend and start tuning and testing the system.
Here are some photos of the install process. As they say a pictures worth a thousand words....
This is the muffler that was replaced by the turbo.
Here's my T4 Flange pipe
The is the Y pipe I made to join the OEM dual exhaust
Here's an early test fit of the turbo
Y pipe installation
Here's the exhaust extension w/T4 Flange and flex joints
Extension pipe installation
Here's the compressor tubing
Final mounting and oil lines
Oil feed from filter sandwich plate
Oil pressure sending unit and feed flow needle valve
Oil return line w/modified fuel filter as oil return sightglass
Final mounting
Final mounting with chrome tips
Exhaust heat wrapped and painted compressor tubing.
The oil pump is in the trunk and it's not mounted as of the time of this post. Finished mounting the gauges and running electrical for the pump and stage 2 boost controller last night. Last items I need to complete before I can start road testing is the oil pump and wastegate pressure line. I am connecting up the homemade stage 2 boost controller to that now as well but it won't be used until I get it working properly on the low boost. The boost controller is just a couple needle valves, a T, and a 12v air solenoid.
What do you all think? Praise as well as criticism welcome, Try to keep the criticism constructive tho

They are all auto.
But the trans is great. My cuz used to have one, about 3-5 5k rpm neutral drops a day, for 3 years. Never had an issue.
And the damn cars haul *** once they get halfway through 1st gear. Which btw goes 55mph haha.
That cars gonna fly dude. GET VIDS.
