Default 1966 Dodge Dart slant six build thread

Thought I'd start a build thread for my 1966 Dodge Dart. Here's some pictures of the current work in progress.

The car is a 1966 Dodge Dart with a 225 slant six. A while ago, I had tried using some parts that I bought from the guy who wrote this article:

http://www.slantsix.org/articles/tur...bo-article.htm

His turbo setup really didn't work well for my needs. The rewelded exhaust manifold was developing severe cracks. The K-car turbo wouldn't let it rev past 3000 RPM before choking things off. And I couldn't make the carb work. So, I ended up tossing all the parts from his setup and making some new ones.

The intake is a Clifford manifold reworked for Supra 440 cc/min injectors, with a fuel rail made from 1" square mechanical tubing. A Ford 4.6 Crown Vic throttle body sits on a length of aluminum sewer pipe. The plumbing parts are a mixture of Spectre and CX Racing stuff, with a few hump couplers from Race Parts Solutions thrown in. There's a CX Racing intercooler up front, too. A MegaSquirt-I V2.2 (which was pretty much all that was available when I started the build) controls fuel and ignition.

On the other side, there's a Garrett GT4082 turbo, connected to a new stock exhaust manifold with an up-pipe using flex joint to take the expansion. The turbo is mounted to an angle iron bracket that I welded together.

Sounds very cool - I've thought about putting a 3" square exhaust tip on there once it's finished as a homage to the D-Dart setup.

the only thing from the d-dart part of it is the vin number, he is done with the body except paint (it was painted the wrong color). Just sitting in his race trailor waiting for an engine. Keep your ---- going dude

Beautiful work on your intake. I'm working on a Ford MAF EFI for my slant. I built my turbo based upon the same article you referenced.
Plan is to use holset turbo after EFI debugged.

Matt, how did this go? Im still working on mine (years), but it is similar to yours, big turbo and MS2.2 EFI on a Windstar 4.3 TB. No intercooler though, mines just 6 pieces of 1.5 EMT coming out the bottom of a cast Edelbrock Valve cover. What are you using as a waste gate?

I'm using a Tialsport wastegate.

Had to put this project on hold for a while as a Chevy C10 that supposedly needed minimal work turned out to have a cracked block and then grenaded its transmission, but I'll be back on this project soon.
