Default Super Beetle Turbo W/ Kads

Hi everyone!

I've been poking around this forum for a while and I'm thinking of, over the winter, fabing up a blow thru setup on my 1973 Super Beetle Hill Climber.
I have a IHI RBH5, dual Kadron/Solex carbs, car and engine.
I think it's time I used this turbo..
I've only been holding on to it since 93, off a 1.8 subie I think, defiantly a subie, just to use it on this bug.
Which I, finally, finished this year I started it in 2000 or something, I can't remember.
Anyway the engine is a 1835 so I feel the size of the engine is perfect for quick response out of the corners.
I'm not all that concerned with top speed just acceleration and a fast spool up.
I'm looking to get 160~180 HP on pump/91 right now I'm in the 110 area.

Any legitimate questions, suggestions, advice, Ideas or helpful criticism welcome.

Like usual, thing will start slow but as winter kicks in I'll be doing more.
A couple pictures of the car.

Default Not going to happen anytime soon. Sorry.

Sorry but I've decided to concentrate on the transmission and safety gear instead of the engine.
And have also decided to remain N/A for a while and make modest engine improvements this coming season.
I know people here be like; What!
What the hell is that? That junk is crazy talk! And I apologize.

Sorry. Take it down if you wish. This thread is dead.

Making sure the car is safe, before having power is not crazy talk, seems more like wisdom to me...... keep posting your progress if so inclined, we still feel it is a cool project...J&J.

Awesome! I'll do that. It's not like I never going to install one, just not this winter.

So here's my first event this year with the car.
Before any of the upgrades I'll be doing this winter.
Some of the issues;
-2nd. to 3rd. was way to steep of a gear change and 4th. not even usable. The RPM dropped way off and you can hear the engine is pulling 3rd. but barely, needs to be closer.
-The diff is stock like the tranny and open. Man it just lit the inside tire up on every corner with speed, would loose all momentum.

All this wasn't going to get any better if I install a turbo I really need to put the power down or I'm wasting my time. Why have a 4 speed if you can only use 2?

I'll put up some photos of the build and details of the car to show where it's at later on.
