Default Intake Manifold design

Well i had nothing to do at work today so i decided to quickly design a intake manifold on solidedge, you guys think it'll be good for 400hp+

i was wondering if you guys could put in some input on designs, such as injector angle, tb position and other things, currently the injectors are at a 45deg. angle with the air flow.

i'd try and make the entry from tb to plenum more smooth.

And shallow up the 45*. Get it where the injectors just bearly fit.

Im no engineer but wouldn't it be better to have the TB mount on one of the sides rather than the top. It seems like the air wouldbe running into a wall before it could split up and be divided. If I'm wrong sorry for wasting space on ur thread and I'm here to learn like everyone else.

i just put it on the top because the stock location of the tb is on the top, its just a rough design with no real dimensions. i just wanted a rough idea of how i wanted it to look.

when i get some more time i will actually do proper measurments of the intake flange, fuel rail extrusions, tb and injectors.

I think it'd be cool if you used a bbk TB, flanges would probably be eassy to come by also

Side draft intake manifolds would inherently deliver more air to the cylinders closer to the TB, usually this is recouped by the diameter of the plenum tapering off toward the end to create a venturi, accelerating the air toward the rear runners, giving a more even ------ of the intake charge. Mid mounting the TB somewhat alleviates this, but then you're going to have more flow toward the middle runners.

This is the reason individual fuel trim is so bad ***, especially in applications with an longer manifold.

Think 2jz.

considering i would never find a plenum like that i would like to make it out of easily purchased or machined parts. i would love to get a plenum like that but there is just no way in hell someone is going to stamp a one off like that for me for cheap.

Did you not read?

Your TB is in the middle.

Make it look like an arrowhead and you'll be fine.
