DIY Exhaust flanges?
I'm going to be making a custom 2.5" downpipe and custom 2.5" exhaust for my miata which will probably be in 3 pieces total. What do you guys use for exhaust flanges?
I know there are some types of exhaust matings that are just 2 flat flanges with a gasket in the middle and some use donuts or whatever. What's best and where would I get some?

i just use the 2flat flanges (3bolt) with a flat gasket. if you do a good job lining up your exhaust peices it works fine and is cheap. i got 3" 3bolt flanges for 4 bucks a peice and 4$ for the gasket. i got them from full-race.com

If you need more junk like a muffler or whatever, look at summitracing.com
The flanges I got were $3.5 per ($7/pair) in 3" 3-bolt. Otherwise you could get some steel plate for almost as much, dick around with a 2.5" hole saw (fun fun), and have just what you want. In these instances, I'm willing to pay to get the right part.
